Note: This article is written purely because I own a Dakine bag and I use it and love it.  This is NOT a "paid" blog entry.

I ski as much as I can afford in winter seasons.  My ideal rucksack feasures included "water proof, heavy duty, and ample room for carrying one day's worth of water and food" and it also had to meet two additional requirement - it has to be dark (so I can carry it to work) and it has to be able to carry a pair of ski (either in A frame or diagnol style).  There were Osprey, Dakine and other brands I was considering back in 2008.  I visited shops like Snow n Rock in London in late 2008.  I then saw Dakine Heli Pro 16-20L (a 2007 edition) and I knew it was a bag I would want to carry when I ski and commute to work!

Dakine Ski

The features I appreciate the most:

No 1: The thick liner back support fits my back nicely and allow me to ski in any terrains comfortably.

No 2: Water proof is essential as we ski in all weather conditions - snow, sleet, wind, sub temprature (pic below).

Dakine (8)

No 3: It is made for heavy duty, with the thick shoulder straps, I can carry another pair of skis on my right shoulder when my bag holds a second pair (pic above).

No 4: Buckles are large and it is easy to operate when I wear thick gloves (pic below).

Dakine Snowboard

No 5: between the think liner and the rucksack, you can fit a snowboard horizontally!  Unfortunately, I don't snowboard.  For snowboards, you can figure it out.

Leon 4

No 6: With two front buckles at chest weist levels allow the bag to secure the skier's body tightly. You can jump, hop or whatever you desire with it.

Dakine Hydro

No 7: I can fit a 3 Litre Camelbak hydro system inside the rucksack and there is a channel allowing the tube to go inside the left shoulder strap.  In the sub freezing temperature, the feature keeps the water unaffected by the cold (pic above).  I hang a water bottle outside the bag when I was skiing at Glacier 3,000 in Les Diablerets and within 2 hours, the water in the bottle were completely frozen (pic below)!

Dakine Heat & Sun

No 8: I use this rucksack for trekking activities in summer time too.  The additional straps outside the bag allows a solar panel (powerbee) to be hung outside the bag while I walk (pic above).  The bag also holds ski and trekking poles nicely (pic below)! My labrador Hector loves outdoor!

Dakine (3)

Dakine Wide Swim

No 9: the additional straps that hold the solar panel are long enough to hold wild swim floating devices and there are several ways I can secure them (pic above)!

No 10: the rucksack fits a 15 inch ACER laptop, an iPad and a lunch box nicely. the bag was reasonably priced when i bought it.

To me, this is the most useful product I have ever purchased and used and I write this to share with skiers who are looking for their next purchase.  I hope my introduction can be helpful to you. Leave me a message if you have any questions.
